Reverend Kenneth Meshoe founded the ACDP in 1993, believing that Christians should be at the forefront of change in South Africa. He has remained leader of the party since then. His main policy issues have included stimulating the economy by putting prisoners to work, promoting abstinence and faithfulness over condomisation and an open-market economy. (Werner Beukes, Sapa)
